In this third edition, we will explore the phenomenon of union avoidance, the policies and practices that companies increasingly use to prevent workers from exercising their rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining. Our speaker will be John Logan, Professor and Director of Labor and Employment Studies at San Francisco State University’s College of Business. He will define union avoidance, provide concrete examples of how it works, and describe the increasingly international industry devoted to thwarting unionization.
